Wild Rose 2 Wind Farm

Project Overview

The Wild Rose 2 Wind Farm is a 192 MW renewable energy facility currently in construction by Capstone. The project is located in Cypress County, Alberta, approximately 30 km southeast of Medicine Hat. Capstone acquired the project from NaturEner Canada Inc. in November 2021.

Regulatory approval was obtained in July 2024 for 36 out of the 38 proposed turbines and is held by Wild Rose 2 Wind Inc., a subsidiary of Capstone. The remaining two turbines (T10 and T11) are currently in development.

Capstone has secured two offtake agreements to sell the power and environmental attributes generated by the Project to Pembina Pipeline and City of Edmonton.
